booldata will be at the Portugal Digital Summit 2026 on 21 and 22 October in Lisbon, as a Connect Partner. If you are assessing what is actually new in data and AI, we would like to meet you there.
The useful question is not which announcement is loudest. It is whether your data is already governed well enough for AI to stand on.
What is worth taking seriously
A summit week produces a long list of features. Most of them are real. Few of them change a decision your organisation makes on Monday.
For a mid-market team, the filter is plain. A new capability earns its place when it improves a decision you already make, on data your people already trust. The rest can wait for the next release notes.
The industry figures point the same way. Gartner reports that 50% of GenAI projects are abandoned after proof of concept (Gartner, “Why 50% of GenAI Projects Fail”, Arun Chandrasekaran, 26 January 2026). IDC found that 88% of AI proofs of concept never reach production (IDC, “From Hype to Impact: How Agentic AI Unlocks Scalable Use Cases for Generative AI”, 16 July 2025). The write-ups rarely blame the model. They describe data that was incomplete, undefined or impossible to trace.
That is the conversation we would rather have in Lisbon. Which decision are you hoping AI will improve? Can you answer it today from one governed source? When two systems disagree, whose number wins?
AI that stands on data you already rely on
A margin, a forecast or a service level is defensible in Power BI when the layer under it is governed. An assistant or an agent has to use that same layer later. Without it, AI spreads the same uncertainty faster.
We use Microsoft Fabric to land data in one governed place, define the business concepts and map the metrics in a semantic model. Fabric ontologies map how those concepts relate, so an LLM can understand your business data rather than guessing from table names. That map is the competitive advantage.
By building that foundation, we serve both the reports and dashboards built in Power BI, and AI agents that answer a business question or run an automation.
Data & AI Activation starts from governed data. It sits on data engineering and BI & Analytics. We work alongside your team, at your pace, on the reports and the agents that share that foundation. The first block is a decision you can see, not a programme that waits until every system has been replaced.
Meet us in Lisbon
We are there as a Connect Partner on 21 and 22 October, and there is time to meet. If a Fabric decision, a Power BI estate or a question about what to activate next is on your desk this quarter, bring it.
Get in touch before the event and we will make time. Or find us in Lisbon. Either way, we would rather spend the conversation on your situation than on a general tour of what is new.
